     Committee for Coaching Excellence

“Our mission will be to illustrate the importance of capable, caring and competent coaching.   We will address issues pertinent to Youth Sports in its execution, organization and impact."

What do we do?

  1. We reinforce the importance of an appropriate mentor-coach at all times for the players.
  2. We assist coaches as needed in their understanding and approach to being a mentor-coach.
  3. We comment on Youth Sports programming that works and also programs that need attention.
  4. We reinforce that a focus on WINNING must be accompanied by an equal focus on TEACHING LIFE SKILLS through Youth Sports.
  5. We are a resource for parents in understanding their choices.

We encourage coaches to come to the gym and take notes on our drills, our approach and the practice regiman.  Please let us know in advance and perhaps we can include you in some manner in the practice itself.

"No written word, no spoken plea can teach our youth what they should be. Nor all the books on all the shelves, it's what the teachers are themselves."
