1:30 second clip with basic post instruction with Adam Rayner. The individual work outlined here is extremely valuable for the players who attend. Coach McGannon breaks the skills down into PARTS, working on each part of a required skill. (This is known as REHEARSAL versus PRACTICE. The best players REHEARSE more than they PRACTICE) In this clip, we are simply working on a post player's ability to catch the ball with WIDTH and with a TWO-FOOTED JUMP STOP. This permits the player to create space naturally and affords the CRITICAL OPTION of pivoting on either foot on demand and as required by the way the defense is positioned.

Please note with Small Group Instruction, we will scrimmage, applying what is being taught immediately into a competitive setting. This is VERY VALUABLE. Most games include very few, if any, repetitions of the key skills under pressure. A player may get 1 or 2 shot attempts, 1 or no cross overs or spins dribbles, very few if any jump stops and pivots. Our Small Group Instruction guarantees these repetitions in a competitive setting. It accelerates the learning curve and helps foster competitive habits.
