Colleges are looking for hardworking, high-character, team oriented, mentally tough, coachable and unselfish players. Basketball Basics fosters these traits in all its' instruction.
Our profiles are based on having worked with and seen these players compete. These are 1st hand evaluations from a creditable source.
There are no guarantees of scholarships, NONE. But we do communicate with many college programs and have access to ALL college coaching staffs. Simply being known is 90% of the battle, and initial recruiting is almost always done ON LINE. We achieve high marks in both these categories.

Coach McGannon has a long and intimate connection with this game.
Not only have I been around the game all my life, I have been able to see great players up close. (caddie master at Pinehurst # 2, 1991-1995) I understand both the technical expertise this game demands but also the required temperment, approach, practice habits, ability to deal with adversity and belief in oneself to play at a high level.
Area players who have the ambition, skill and dream to play college golf should be on this link. Here's how it works.

2. Provide academic history, awards, honors, GPA, test scores, work history, community involvement. These are all a important part of the recruiting package and will be requested by coaching staffs and admissions departments.
3. Play a round with Coach McGannon
4. Player Profile will be written and posted with stats immediately. Cost: $250. Going to $375 in 2012.
5. Up to 40 college golf staffs (Head Coach and Assistants) will be alerted to your son or daughter's profile. This e-mail broadcast comes directly from Coach McGannon. Cost: $250. Going to $375 in 2012.
6. Included in the broadcast will be the very valuable tool of a brief video showing the player's swing and competence executing various shots. (driving, short game, putting, sand play, etc) Examples:

PLEASE NOTE:
The longer and wider the recruiting window is open, the better it is for the player. While final decisions for golf recruits are often not made until that player's senior year, strong players on the horizon carry great weight with these coaching staffs. Being known is 95% of the battle. The more time a player has to be known and seen clearly increases his/her chances of being recruited to play college golf.
