If you are interested in a player profile for your son or daughter, contact Coach McGannon at (616) 402-1600.
Colleges are looking for hardworking, high-character, team oriented, mentally tough, coachable and unselfish players. Basketball Basics fosters these traits in all its' instruction.
Our profiles are based on having worked with and seen these players compete. These are 1st hand evaluations from a creditable source.
There are no guarantees of scholarships, NONE. But we do communicate with many college programs and have access to ALL college coaching staffs. Simply being known is 90% of the battle, and initial recruiting is almost always done ON LINE. We achieve high marks in both these categories.

Coach McGannon
We have spoken and we look forward to staying in touch with him. We are actively pursuing a guard who can play right away for us. We definitely want him to be at our ELITE CAMP next summer so we can see him live, work with him on the court, and allow him to get a feel for what we are about here at Princeton.
Hope you are well. Thanks A LOT for the heads up.

College staffs often sift through hundreds of player names and evaluations. Basketball Basics provides a quick, concise and reliable report on these players' skills.
These profiles are a great way for the players to get their names out in the college mix, and also a great way for colleges to get a 1st hand report on talented high school players.
The ideal time to create this profile is sophomore or junior year (stronger players can consider being added freshman year) The larger the recruiting window of opportunity is, the better. College staffs look 2, 3 and 4 years out at talent on the horizon. While it is not too late to be added their senior year, many programs will have finished their next year's recuiting, or at the very least, have few if any openings for next fall's matriculation.
This one time fee covers a player's high school years. Included in this fee:
Communication with up to 40 college coaching staffs of the player's choice. (this expense can be delayed until the timing is right to broadcast the college staffs. For example, after a big year, or play off run, or state/local award.
This is a hard-target search with premeditation and insight into a player's potential, interests and future goals. The player identifies up to 40 colleges of interest, we directly contact those coaching staffs.
Basketball Basics will field several AYBT teams this spring and summer. There is no better opportunity to learn 1st hand from Coach McGannon, who has a strong understanding of the skills required to play at the college level. He will be both the practice coach and the game coach for teams in the following age groups. Please note there are try outs for each team, and the teams are limited to between 8 and 12 players.
Boys entering or in High School
Girls entering or in High School
Coach Brad Richards will coach Girls 8th Graders and POSSIBLY a 7th grade team also.
Appropriately skilled coaches being sought for 5th and 6th Grade levels.

OUT-OF-STATE PLAYERS: Two examples of skills video clips follow. Please provide a 4 to 5 minute clip of basic skills as shown here. Once Coach McGannon can review the clip, the player's profile will be added to this link. This ASSUMES the player has solid fundamentals and can execute skills as note below.
Other info needed: Height/Weight, GPA, test scores if available, any academic awards or honors, community service, examples of volunteerism, any positions of leadership, areas of study interest (medicine, law, energy, I.T., etc)
It is required that Coach McGannon has worked with each player on the profile. This is NOT a ratings service from some unknown analyst. This service communicates directly with college coaching staffs from a reliable source what a player's skills are and what his or her potential may be. If Coach McGannon has NOT worked with a player, a one-on-one session will be included in the cost of the Player Profile. ($95 value). To schedule an appointment or to discuss payment options, call Coach at (616) 402-1600.

Coach McGannon,
Thank you for helping us navigate through the recruiting process for Evan. Landing at Detroit is a great fit, we are excited to see how he does next year. Your input and guidance helped Evan a lot. With schools like Davidson and Harvard in the mix directly through your service, it helped move the process along with the other schools including Detroit. Not only were you instrumental in Evan's development as a player, but your opinions and guidance helped us deal with the recruiting process. Thank you again.
Henry Bruinsma
