Emily has made the varsity team as a freshman and has been their leading rebounder in several of their early games, 2011-12 season!!  Great job Emily!  

Agile and powerful player.  Has grown 3 or 4 inches since 7th grade, has good ball handling skills.  One of the few players her age who actually possesses a jump shot.  Can elevate and shoot it over most anybody.  Once she develops some technique (inside pivots off the dribble, jumping to the ball on the catch, solid ball fakes), she will be able to get her shot off anytime she wants.  Learning to play defense, excellent size and athleticism allows her to rebound effectively and contest.  She will learn positional defense over the next year or so, how to help and recover, how to block/alter shots without fouling, how to box out effectively and rebound.  Great kid, loves the game.  Big upside with this player if she commits, keeps the passion and works hard.  Emily is an excellent student, all A's and already volunteering with No More Sidelines and other community activities.

She played with Basketball Basics AYBT team in 2001, at the high school level although only in 8th grade.  She was an impact player despite her youth.  Great energy, skills are very good and will improve.
